Heavy crops with a fantastic 'Japanese style' gourmet flavour. Gives reliable harvests of good sized fruits, great for pots. Excellent source of vitamin C.
Sow indoors, January-March. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly on the surface of a small tray or pot of pre-watered compost. Place in a warm, light position. A temperature of 20°C (68°F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10cm (4") tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out, April-June, 25cm (10") apart, into warm, well-drained soil, or individual containers, when frosts are over. Harvest: June-October.
